New Project: Dystopian Report
A subcategory of my Dystopian Review series, I've been making videos about our nightmare world. I like it.
Hello, friends.
Been a while, huh? Ain’t like nothin’s happened or anythin’ like that.
Keep your eyes off the flaming wreckage and Camp GITMO 2.0, where the ‘dangerous’ people will be concentrated.
Substack as a place for a Progressive to create is…Not what I’d hoped. Remember when Substack defended Nazis? Well, they’re at it again, slobbering over Elon Musk’s ‘free speech’ lies.
Back in December 2023 I didn’t have a really great answer to the, “What else if not Substack?” question. In 2025, I do.
And, so, I am.
If you’re a fan of The Progressive Cafe, I need you to jump on over to my Dystopian Review Youtube channel. There, I’ve been doing videos called ‘Dystopian Report’ exploring whatever concepts get in my mind about the day’s news.
Whereas with The Progressive Cafe the idea was to dig deep into a topic and come up with actionable solutions, Dystopian Report is geared towards informing ourselves of our nightmare world and, where applicable, presenting solutions to the problems.
Sometimes, there’s very few immediate fixes.
Others, there’s line-item, “Hey, this expert says you can do these things to fix it” feedback.
As far as future updates on The Progressive Cafe go…Maybe I’ll post here once in a while, if only to milk the e-mail list. Maybe, if Substack recognizes that Nazis are against free speech and that aligning with them is bad for that whole lofty goal, and jettisons them, then I’ll be back here.
But to be honest I spend maybe 30 minutes to an hour on a video and get the same amount of views and feedback as most of my six-hour-production articles here, so, yeah. Much better.
Here’s a taste, featuring my cat Ariel keeping me as chill as she can.
